Making little disciples of Jesus

Every Sunday is our opportunity to care for kids in nursery through 5th grade and to show them the love of Jesus! Our Ekklesia Kids classes involve sparking creativity through crafts and learning God’s Word through song and weekly lessons.

About Ekklesia Kids

When and where do Ekklesia Kids gather?

Ekklesia Kids classes are open for Nursery through 5th grade at the 8:15A, 10A and 11:45A Sunday gatherings in Cal Young Middle School. To learn more about our Sunday gatherings, visit this page. As well, a private mother’s lounge is available in the small gym.

What do I need to do if it’s my child’s first time in class?

If it is your child’s first time attending an Ekklesia Kids class, please fill out the First-Time Kids Form here. This form is also available at the Kids Check-In table located in the lobby.

Is there a check-in process?

Nursery + Pre-K kids check in at the Kids Check-In table located in the lobby and head straight to their classroom, which is across from the main gathering gym. K-5th kids check in at the Kids Check In table located in the lobby and sit in the main gathering until they are dismissed to their classrooms. Watch this video for more information about our check-in process.

What should I do if my child is sick?

To ensure a healthy and safe environment for all children, Ekklesia follows the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Children experiencing any of the below symptoms should stay home and not attend a Ekklesia Gathering: Fever over 100.4°F, green or yellow nasal discharge, lice, vomiting, open skin infections, unexplained rash, diarrhea, pink eye or other eye infection, croup, or any other communicable disease.  Children should be free of fever and all symptoms for 24 hours prior to attending church.

If a child becomes ill during a gathering, the parent will be contacted immediately. Please be aware that Ekklesia Kids volunteers or leaders will not administer medication to any children.  Our sick policy is found at the Children’s Check-In Table.

Can I volunteer in Kids classes?

Yes! If you are looking to serve and have questions about Ekklesia Kids ministry, our monthly Kids Team Orientation is an opportunity to learn about the Kids leadership team, programs, and serve roles. Kids Team Orientation takes place on the 2nd Sunday of each month in the Library after the 8:15A, 10A and 11:45A gathering.

Join our team of volunteers who help teach, love, and encourage Ekklesia Kids. To get started, fill out a volunteer form here and indicate which age groups you’re interested in working with. We’d love to have you join our team!
